Sharon and Lou’s Fabulous Spirals

As I said in a previous post, I recently spent the day with a lovely group of ladies dyeing fabric using different techniques taught by Sandra Wyman.

In this group of ladies was Lou (The Fabulous Stitcher) and her daughter Sharon (The Talented Teacher). We had great day and I enjoy their company a lot.

I asked Sharon (The Talented Teacher) if she would send me some photos of their fabric once it had been rinsed and washed and she has kindly done so…..and it looks FANTASTIC!!!  I can’t wait to see it in the flesh so to speak.

This technique is done by laying flat a metre square piece of fabric and slowly and carefully twisting it in from the centre so you produce something like Sandra did in the photo below.

You need to make sure you keep the spiral flat and then add the ink using a syringe to one side then the other.  Please post a comment if you have tried this technique, I would love to see your results.

You may well be wondering where my efforts are…..I dyed that much fabric, I am still in the process of rinsing and washing it.  I promise to post photos though when I have finished, especially those of curtains that My Mam gave to me which are now a nice patterned indigo!

Thanks for stopping by….
